The 5 best video cards for gaming in 2014 (so far…. And in my opinion)

There is no component that has a bigger direct impact on your gaming experience than your video card will, so naturally you’re going to want the best card for your price range and gaming needs. This week we’re going to look at the best graphics cards that you can get for gaming.

A video card is essentially another CPU that’s only responsible for the processing of graphics related tasks, therefore a higher end card not only relieves your CPU of the workload of having to carry out said graphical tasks, but also improves the quality of visual effects that your rig can display. This will increase the performance of your computer significantly.

1. The AMD Radeon r9 290X

With 4GB of DDR5 volatile memory at your disposal you’ll rarely, if ever, run out of vram. Not to mention the 1 GHZ + stock clock speed, Full support for 4k gaming( 4K60 or SST or MST, on top of AMD’s new API, mantle. Only ‘drawback’ is that it runs hot and is rather noisy when on full power – which to me is a pro – Who doesn’t love a beastly sounding card?

2. The NVIDEA GeForce GTX 780 TI

With a core base clock of 876 MHz and a whopping 2880 cuda cores, you can clearly see that NVIDEA means business with this card, On top of supporting the overclocking community even further with an advanced three rail PWM with load balancing, making for far superior overclocks and stability. The 3 GB of DDR5 ram under the trunk being one of the main drawbacks.

3. The NVIDEA GeForce GTX 770

Core clocked @ 1137 MHz, capable of up to triple SLI, 256 bit memory interface, cuda enabled, 2 GB GDDR5 vram. A great card for a great price!

4. The AMD Radeon r9 280

With the ability to crossfire up to 4 cards together ( bridge required) and stream to up to 6 displays (with a DP MST hub), Full support for 4k gaming ( 4K60 or SST or MST), as well as the mantle API . This card is a slightly toned down version of the 290, but still a formidable card nonetheless.

5. You choose!

What card do you think is worthy enough to be position 5 on this list? Do you disagree with any of my choices? Tell me down in the comments below and I’ll add it here next week! Thank you for reading my post.
